I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that there is an ongoing trial between Apple and Samsung on the similarity between the Apple iPad and the Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1.

Apple has stated that “the iPad design”, which is a rectangular flat computer, is much like the Samsung tab, but it is also similar with science fiction device.

Specifically, the film of Stanley Kubrick 2001: A Space Odyssey. Some will say that this film is outdated, while others may say this is ahead of its time. You can see in the video clip after the jump that two of the main characters of the film astronaut use tablet PC technology.

As you can see, the tablet PC men Watch have a rectangular shape, dominant display screen, narrow borders, mainly in flat front surface and thin form factor. In other words, they seek to iPads, or that they are Galaxy tabs?

It is interesting to see a work of science fiction, cited in a judicial case. It will also show you that perhaps some things cannot be patented as their descriptions are much too vague. I suppose than Tablet PCs that have been used in abundance in Star Trek: The Next Generation will be the next exhibition.

by Mark R – on June 21, 2011.

What you see here is not done with the removal of the wire, but we are seeing a ball of flying robots. He has a resemblance with strong ball of torture of the original Star Wars film robot, but that does not have a needle on it, but a camera.

Yes, the purpose of the flying ball robot is to float in and take pictures. Its ball shape makes it more resistant so it bumps into the walls.

This ball flight was designed by Japan Ministry of defence, technical research and Development Institute. He can move at a maximum speed of 40 miles per hour and the files on a single propeller with eight wings. You can see a video after the jump.

I suppose that this could be used to reach in enemy territory, but the large black ball seems easy enough to shoot down. Personally, I think that it has several uses in the private sector.

Imagine if your boss put this aircraft flying on your back to monitor your performance at work. Yeah, I don’t like this idea, and it reminds me of an episode of show regularly called “Peeps”. If you are not watching show for Cartoon Network regularly, you are go to one of the funniest things on television.

But I do not exclude that too. In what respect this aircraft flying to orb, only the cost of $1,000 to do, and I would not be surprised if we see in the future.

It took a little Magic and a Dream but Android eventually got a Hero to champion the OS. Now, the HTC Legend comes in an aluminum suit of armor to join the ranks of the Android army. So, is this knight in shining armor set to be the vanguard of the explosive growth of Android?

The predecessor of the HTC Legend, the Hero, pioneered Sense UI and this latest gadget follows suit, but brings some innovation of its own.

The HTC Legend borrows a page from high-end laptop design – the aluminum unibody. The unibody design was touted as a game-changing breakthrough when it hit the laptop market. A lot of that was marketing hype, but the fact is that unibody metal designs still have a distinct quality feel to them.

Before we jump into any details, we’ll go over the key aspects of the HTC Legend and what we found lacking.

Key features

Aluminum unibody design

Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support

3G with HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 2Mbps

Android OS v2.1 with latest Sense UI

3.2″ capacitive AMOLED touchscreen of HVGA resolution

The aluminum body isn’t the only hardware upgrade the Legend got over the Hero, the TFT display technology has been switched in favor of AMOLED and that’s not all. Some of the other specs have alos received a refresh.

Despite trading plastic for metal, the Legend is actually slimmer around the waist than the Hero – it’s just 11.5mm thick and it’s a pinch lighter too. Something that will evoke either a positive or negative response depending on the person is the move to an optical trackpad instead of the tried and true trackball.

Android doesn’t have much use for a trackball or trackpad anyway, but this goes well with the more compact profile of the HTC Legend. Even the trade-mark chin has been all but flattened.

On the next page, we’ll tell you more about the feats (and features) of the HTC Legend, starting with the unboxing and the hardware.

Sony Ericsson have been working on the X10 for quite a long time, taking the utmost care to make sure its software offers the best user experience possible. They wanted their first droid to be perfect and perfection requires time. That’s right – the XPERIA X10 is the first Android to roll off the Sony Ericsson assembly line, hard as it might be to believe. But it certainly is not the kind of the phone to quietly disappear in the crowd of first-generation droids.

Androids just keep coming and a look at our front page will tell you any newcomer will need big ideas to make a splash. The popularity of Google’s mobile OS is reaching unprecedented levels and the handsets adopting Android grow in number every day. And while Microsoft will try to unify their Windows Phone 7 and limit customization, Google favor the opposite approach.

Sony Ericsson immediately took on board the possibilities offered by customization and really ran with it. Their blue-themed interpretation breathes new life into the familiar Android OS and tries to give the user a whole new experience. But they didn’t stop there. The unique Timescape and Mediascape interfaces are supposed to give the XPERIA X10 a much-needed edge in the high-end class. Trying to compete with the HTC Sense is a tough job, but Sony Ericsson have managed to offer something completely different – giving media and communications a central place in their UI.

XPERIA X10 comes with top-notch hardware to meet its software demands. Here is the impressive specs sheet along with some potential drawbacks.

Key features

Quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G support

10.2 Mbps HSDPA and 2 Mbps HSUPA support

4″ capacitive touchscreen of WVGA (480 x 854 pixel) resolution and scratch-resistant surface

16M-color ready (65K effective colors under Android OS v1.6)

Android OS v1.6 with complete Sony Ericsson UI customization

Timescape and Mediascape UI

Excellent social networking integration

Excellent build quality

Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon 1 GHz CPU, OpenGL ES 2.0 support; 384 MB of RAM

8 MP autofocus camera with LED flash, touch focus, image stabilization, geotagging, face and smile detection

WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) video recording @ 30fps

Wi-Fi and GPS with A-GPS

1GB storage, microSD slot, bundled with an 8GB card

Accelerometer and proximity sensor

Standard 3.5 mm audio jack

microUSB port (charging) and stereo Bluetooth v2.1

Document viewer

Li-Po 1500 mAh (BST-41) battery

Main disadvantages

No DivX and XviD video playback

No smart and voice dialing

No secondary video-call camera (or videocalling whatsoever)

No free GPS navigation solution

No Flash support for the web browser

No FM radio

An extra xenon flash would’ve made the very good camera perfect

Feeble loudspeaker

Poor audio quality

Most of the XPERIA weaknesses are hardly deal breakers and most people could live with them. Sony Ericsson have done enough though to reassure everyone that the XPERIA X10 will be on a par with its Android rivals at the time of release. Don’t underestimate the amount of hard work put into the X10 during the long manufacturing process. The delay was definitely worth it.

Sony Ericsson have also promised that Android 2.1 will at some point be available for the XPERIA X10, enhancing its capabilities with multi-touch support and making full use of the 16M color-ready display.

But no more small talk. Head to the next page where we start our traditional hardware inspection.

I myself remember friends on, and some of them have had never even seen a rotary phone before. You can imagine my embarrassment, that we have always been slow to adapt to new technologies. I don’t know if my family has obtained at the time of cell phones, we would have had something like that.

Designed my Richard Clarkson, cell phone Rotary character permanently at the time of steampunk never-seen. Will probably see you this come to a major carrier, as it is a concept for now. Just to let you know, there is a touch screen on the other side, so if you want to touch dial, you can do.

I’m guessing that this phone has a niche audience, but I can imagine the appearance that you would get the steampunk crowd when you remove your cell Rotary, at least until you take forever to dial a phone number.

My source indicates it’s a cell phone that could be seen in Blade Runner, but I disagree. I think that it is more thinking about the Brazil, the futuristic Surrealist film by Terry Gilliam. For some time that I saw this film, but I remember that computers looked like a better typewriter that PCs actual. In other words, if technology got obsolete and futuristic at the same time, this mobile phone would be the result.

Most of the smartphones these days come in the variety of the touch screen, and it goes without saying that regardless of the which you were a player in the industry of the phone some time ago, you gotta keep up with the time if you were to survive. Nokia is fight against losing its market share, and in their latest effort, they decided to release a smartphone that has a superlative – 701 of Nokia, which is touted to have the most brilliant display of smartphone available to date.

This claim by Nokia is made possible by the 3 5? LCD IPS display that showcases the technology ClearBlack, where he will work in tandem to create a combination of brightness and contrast unprecedented. The largest number of NITs where smartphone displays Sporting are concerned, it is also rustic in its own name, with Corning Gorilla glass covering so that you do not need to worry about a single raindrop smashing it in all ways to Sunday.

Apart from the bright screen, what can we look forward to the Nokia 701? What processor 1 GHz to begin with for example? With the support of radio pentaband, you can be certain that this puppy will travel around the world without missing a beat, and even more interesting is the fact that it will be delivered with the latest version of Symbian, Symbian Belle.

A fast needs processor a graphics coprocessor quick to follow with it, and Nokia does not disappoint in this Department, 701 with a clock faster and four times the amount of graphics memory found in the previous Symbian smartphones.

If you want to capture memories of everyday occurrences, and then the 8 megapixel camera will definitely come practice. This camera full discussion will wear a right rear dual-LED flash, while there is also a secondary camera in front of just in case you want to organize video calls where as you are.

All your data is hidden away on 2 GB of internal memory, and if you think that is not enough (the second thoughts, do not think that – I am confident that it will not be enough), what popping in a memory of 32 GB microSD instead card?

Although it is super bright, this does not mean that the battery is going to leave you high and dry – not, Mr, 701′s battery Nokia has been classified to last up to 17 hours of Talktime on GSM. If you are interested, Nokia 701 will come in black steel and light money, purple amethyst and white colors, where it is inclined to arrive some time in the third quarter this year to about 290 Euros.

So, the Sony Ericsson Aino is keen to live a double life. At first glance, it’s a touchscreen PMP, but on a second look it’s a regular slider phone with an extra big screen. It’s not the ultimate PlayStation phone but it does have Remote Play, to wirelessly pair with Sony’s PlayStation 3.

As far as feature phones go, the Aino has pretty much everything – excellent connectivity, full-featured navigation, a great camera, plenty of internal storage and a simple-but-snappy touch media menu.

By the way, don’t let anyone tell you touchscreen functionality is limited to the proprietary Sony Ericsson multimedia menu. We were pleasantly surprised with Opera Mini, which seemed to quite agree with the Aino touch system. Touchscreen navigation is all there and it performed very smoothly. This means touch controlled Java games might work as well.

All right, this was just a single little secret revealed. Let’s take a closer look at what else the Aino may be hiding there.

Key features

3″ 16M-color capacitive touchscreen, 240 x 432 pixels

Quad-band GSM support

Tri-band 3G with 7.2Mbps HSDPA, 2Mbps HSUPA

8 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash; geotagging, touch-focus, face detection, image stabilization; VGA video recording @ 30fps

Some degree of touchscreen functionality – touch-enabled media and camera interface

Touch works in Java apps as well, e.g. Opera Mini

Built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS; Trial version of Wisepilot navigation software

Wi-Fi with DLNA

FM radio with RDS

Stereo Bluetooth 2.1

microSD card slot

Wireless Bluetooth headset with 3.5 mm audio jack and nice headphones, desktop docking station and 8GB microSD card in box

Remote play for Playstation 3

Main disadvantages

No standard USB port

No 3.5mm audio jack (but there’s one on the Bluetooth headset)

Touch control is limited to camera, gallery, multimedia players and some Java apps

Media library updates very slowly in the touch media menu

No DivX/XviD support

No xenon flash

No camera lens cover

The box contents are a sweat deal too – the matching desk stand and wireless headset would fetch a pretty high price as a separate purchase, but with Aino they are part of the experience. And the 8GB microSD card in the box should be enough for most people.

Luxury phones are having a tough time being unique nowadays. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pureness is having a hard time being… luxurious. But that’s no way to start a proper review now, is it?

There we go again then. Rare metals and precious stones are commonplace, but a transparent screen? Now, that’s a first. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pureness keeps only the essential phone functions and that explains the Pureness moniker. And just like a proper luxury phone, it comes with a concierge service.

You can access the concierge service 24/7 via a phone call or email and have them book you a hotel room, buy tickets for a game or ask for advice. But it’s not just a simple booking service – going through the concierge service has some perks, like free room upgrades in some hotels, discounts (well, well), complementary champagne and so on.

You see, the luxury of owning a Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pureness doesn’t just come from what’s in the phone itself. But since we’re not going to be using the concierge service anytime soon, let’s focus on what the phone has to offer:

Key features:

Quad-band GSM support

3G with HSDPA and HSUPA support

One-of-a-kind transparent greyscale display (1.8″, 240 x 320 pixels), scratch-resistant surface

Very lightweight, only 70 grams

FM radio with RDS and TrackID

Bluetooth with A2DP and USB (Fast Port connector)

2 GB internal memory

Smart dialing

Excellent audio quality

Main disadvantages:

Small screen is poor on legibility

Looks cheap and poorly built

Fast Port instead of 3.5 mm audio jack means limited use as a music player

Fast 3G connectivity with HSDPA/HSUPA is only usable for tethering

No camera

Non-removable battery

Internal memory not expandable

A phone with a transparent screen is nothing short of unique. But the display certainly is a liability in terms of actually using the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pureness. It limits the physical space available inside the phone, leaving Sony Ericsson engineers with very little room to work with.

Plus, the low-resolution greyscale display makes a camera (even just a video call camera) and proper web browsing pointless. This leaves tethering as the only reasonable use for the fast 3G data.

But the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pureness is not a gadget. Rather it takes the concept of pureness and runs with it – by leaving out all the distracting features. Only the essence of a phone remains and the transparent screen acts as the perfect metaphor for this.

On the next page, we look through the hardware. Literally.

I have a chance to try some of the accessories of Snakebyte games last week, and I have to admit, I was very impressed.

The first is the Wii MiniMote command, which is the Red Wii controller on the left. You may have noticed it’s small, and you are right. It is twenty – five per cent smaller than the Wiimote. I found that this corresponds quite comfortably in my hand for a lighter game experience.

In regard to the premium remote XL +, it looks like a regular Wiimote. It has only integrated Wii Motion plus sensor, and there are some other features that I will talk after the jump.

You should probably know that the Wii MiniMote takes AAA batteries instead of the usual AA. It is probably something that should be on the box. The Premium Remote XL + takes AA batteries, but you need to unscrew the back to put them. Initially, I thought that it was a terrible feature, and I noticed that it comes with rechargeable batteries and a USB charger. So you change the battery, it connect via USB to the Wii for power.

You should be able to get these fantastic accessories video game on the site Web Snakebyte now. The XL remote premium + is now on sale for $27.99 and the Minimote is approximately $23.99.

Yes, this research-cool aircraft does not yet exist. Is the Oliver VTOL (Vertical take-off landing), and it has six engines instead of the usual three of a Jet engine.

Some of you may wonder how such a vehicle could land. It is because you see it-oriented to the front view. If you could see the side, you would know that the “top” and “bottom” propellers are on the same level as the average propellers. There are two propellers in the back and two in the front which can be swivelled upwards for the aircraft can take off without a track.

According to my sources, the six engines are better than even four, as is the more secure for when an engine or even a section of wing breaks down. This particular plan can fly farther, faster and takes less fuel.

This VTOL Oliver is seeking 12 million $ in funding to help make this aircraft. I hope that he gets funding, I would like to see this aircraft in reality. I would really like to see how it handles landing and take-off. I suppose I wonder if the transition of soil air would be smooth.
